Compared to all the other places I have visited in the Tampa area, Zen Bistro seemed out of place. It really seems like a place you would find in New York City or Chicago. It was slightly too trendy for what I was use to in Tampa, but yet the ambiance when well done. The plexi glass floors were an excellent touch; this might be a reason just to go check out the place. Even though Zen Bistro had a great sushi list which included my favorites, I decided to go with their regular menu and try the Zen Lettuce Wraps. Looking back, I am glad I did not go with the sushi. I really hope it was simply an off night, as my coworker decided to get the sushi and was not thoroughly impressed. The exact description was “there is too much vinegar in the rice”, and when I tried it I could back up that comment. Good thing it was not my meal, because my lettuce wraps were a lot better, hey I actually enjoyed them. It was minced chicken, lightly spiced with great flavor served with the lettuce (of course) and a spicy sauce and peanut sauce. The spicy sauce was excellent, I was not able to figure out what exactly it was but, boy was it good. I would have given this place 2 thumbs up if the sushi was good, hey if you put sushi bar in your title you better deliver!

Right off the bat, do not let the name fool you. You probably are thinking this is some run down Chinese buffet with food that sits around for days on end. Completely wrong! Of the many Chinese and Asian Buffets I have graced with my presence and appetite, Crazy Buffet takes the cake. As you walk in you will be surprised this is not what the name would lead you to believe. We were greeted by a hostess who before even showing us to a table; gave us a little tour of the buffet. The buffet included a sushi buffet, a hibachi, seafood delicacies, Chinese fare, other various Asian dishes and of course a dessert bar that tops all I have ever seen. The sushi selection was quiet extravagant, something to compete with Minado, back home. I went with my usual, yellowtail, octopus and tried some other pieces. There was a bagel roll with my fellow dining mates (is that a real term, guess it is now) just could not have enough off. Couple other items that were a big hit for me were the Peking duck, Snow Crab Legs, Shrimp Cocktail and Ginger chicken. Finally, as I previously mentioned the dessert bar really stood out, this is because Crazy buffet is the only place I have been to that had a chocolate fountain! In its self that was worth the whole experience!

This is a place my coworkers seem to go quiet often, so on this night I decided to join in. The menu was quiet appealing, mixing, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, and Thai food. Since I have not had it in a while, I was happy to see Pho soup on the menu. For those who may not know what it is, basically it is a noodle soup with beef. Normally it is served with hot sauce on the side. We got our orders in, but for some reason it took them an extremely long time to bring the food. It seemed like almost 30 minutes. Granted we did have a pretty large group of I would say about 10-12, but still it just took way to long. Finally the food did come, the Pho itself, I was not really impressed with. It was good, but nothing to rant and rave about, it might be that I am just a hard person to please! As for if I will be coming back, I definitely will, I think they deserve another shot, and hopefully next time will be a better experience.

My final buffet during my excursion to Las Vegas was a lunch buffet at Caesars Palace Hotel and Casino. Now if a size matter, then this is not the buffet for you, perhaps you should check out my reviews for Spice Market Café or Carnival World, they will better fit your needs. Regardless I felt that this buffet fills the cliché quality over quantity. I could probably just name all the items at this buffet but instead, I will focus on the reason I enjoyed this buffet, that being the crab legs. At the previous two buffets I went to during this trip, I tried the crab legs, but none of them could match the quality of the crab legs at Caesar’s. They were easy to break into and were meaty once you got into them. Aside from the crab legs, I also enjoyed the variety of salads. Since it was during brunch, they also serve fresh made to order omelets, which I skipped on due to the line, which I am never a fan of waiting in line for food. There were also fresh waffles which you could with a variety of options including ice cream. I felt this buffet was worth it and is really meant for the person looking for an excellent meal without doing the ala carte thing.
